Florida Community College at Jacksonville
provides Microsoft operating systems and developer tools to its
faculty and students through its Microsoft Developer Network Academic
Alliance (MSDN AA) agreement.
Current faculty and students enrolled in courses
that teach the specific software can download a licensed copy
of operating systems, server applications, and developer applications
for non profit, educational, and research use. Access to these
products is monitored through the Electronic License Management
System (ELMS).
Students who require MSDN AA software should
request the software through their instructor. Student requests
made directly to the MSDN AA administrator will not be processed.
Students have the option to download or purchase
MSDN AA software through this site. Very few products are available
for CD Media Sales. The majority of software products can be downloaded.
Students are only authorized to download
(or purchase) software through this site which is being taught
in their class, and requested by their instructor.
Faculty who require access to the MSDN AA software
should contact the MSDN AA administrator (John J. Trifiletti,
Ph.D.) via e-mail request. Please include the instructor name,
course number and name, reference number, and software you are
teaching.
There are several steps to this process:
1. Student requests software from their instructor.
2. Instructor submits text file to MSDN AA administrator.
3. MSDN AA administrator creates ELMS accounts.
4. ELMS sends username and password to users e-mail address.
5. User logs into ELMS
6. User selects required software to download and agrees to the
Elms User License Agreement (EULA).
7. User downloads a small executable from e-Academy.
8. User executes download, which retrieves files from an FCCJ
server.
9. ELMS provides the user with a product key either at the time
of downloading or in a separate e-mail sent to their e-mail address.
10. User burns the product to a recordable CD media.
